River Dee Low Water
Greased Line Fishing was born in 1903, in Ireland, by Arthur H.E. Wood.  Over 19 years at Cairnton, a prime beat on Scotland's River Dee, he perfected the method.  Wood's method called for special 2X-long, 2Xfine, Light Wire Hooks that have become known as "low water hooks".  As a general rule flies for Greased Line Fishing are dresses on low water hooks, approximately two sizes smaller than the actual size of the hook, and are know as "low water flies".  They are things of beauty and delicacy but call for a hook with a unique combination of grace and beauty as well as good hooking and holding ability.
