Le CIE Series – Our largest rod project ever
Our ultimate challenge in rod-design and performance. This is the largest project we ever ventured into. With Le CIE, we offer you a concept of flyrods, which will cover every aspect of flyfishing, encountered all over Europe. We have listened carefully to the feedback from our Fly Force guys and flyfishers from a wide variety of environments in order to be able to offer a complete range of well-balanced, lightweight, good looking and above all; outstanding performing rods.
We have spared no effort in trying to create something that is truly unique to Guideline. Each rod is the work of countless hours of small adjustments in blank tapers and performance, ultimately aiming for rods that will be forgiving and yet sensitive, with a balance and prestanda, that is just that bit better than anything else we have tried out there.
We are all very different in our preferences regarding rod actions, so in order to cover most tastes, we decided to create different curves for most rods, making it possible for you to find exactly the rod that suits your style, fishing and casting-temper best.
In addition we decided, not to put just another standard reelseat on these unique rods, so we went to work, collecting inspiration from our award-winning INEX flyreels and found the shapes we were looking for, in order to get an esthetical, clean and personal look, that identifies as..Guideline.
We have thought about grips, handles and comfort for a while. The new, figure-shaped grips on these rods are the result, giving you extra control during your casting. The cool, exclusive and impact-resistant mirror finish gives the rod a very special look.
To spare no effort and quality, we rigged it with the finest REC guides available, to make sure you get nothing but the best.
We are confident that we have a worthy top-of-the range addition to our rod range and that you will find this a great rod for money you just wouldn’t think was possible.
Le Cie blanks are manufactured in 40/48 tonnage graphite, mixing several graphite blends for each model and also using different type graphite for the various parts of the rod. This ensures that the rods are lightweight and strong. We have picked up the finish from our RS rods, given it a new colour and added wrappings and trim that create a harmonizing, discrete look. Our brand new Guideline reel seats come in four different sizes in order to balance all rods well and to fit every type of reel for the specific rod. Our new, figure shaped, ergonomic handles, also come in a variety of sizes to fit the type of demands requested from each model. Nothing but the best quality cork was chosen for the handles. The guides on all rods are by REC, except for the stripper-guides. All rods come in a Cordura tube with cloth bag for the rod.
DHS-MF-12678 12´6 #7/8
This rod has the versatility and the advantage of being able to fish both banks with maximum efficiency. Yet, this rod contains the delicacy and the stealth to fish low, clear waters without noise and splashing that will spook shy fish. A delight to handle and own. 4-piece.
DHS-MF-12689 12´6 #8/9
More power to handle tougher conditions and larger flies. Will love a PT Shooting Head #8/9 cut at 11 meters. A terrific allround rod for small to medium size rivers. One of the most popular lengths and line-weights in recent years. 4-piece.
DHS-MF-126910 12´6 #9/10
This rod has picked up inspiration and performance from the all time Guideline bestselling Salar 12´6 #9 rod. A deep powerful flex makes this the ultimate action for both floating and fast sinking lines alike. The power of the tip section makes the rod respond accurately when aerializing the line in the set up for the spey cast. 4-piece.
DHS-MF-13789 13´7 #8/9
A very interesting rod, that follows the trends for lighter, longer rods, it boosts a crispness and balance that makes it easy to handle and it sets good, effective loops. A great choice for floating line fishing, dry fly fishing etc. We made it 3-piece for the sake of optimum action and flex.
DHS-MF-137910 13´7 #9/10
One of the best all-rounders in the range. This rod is so easy to cast, you’ll be out there all day with a grin that just won’t leave your face. Load it with a Power Taper 9/10 customized at 12,0 meters and hold on.. 3-piece.
DHS-MF-148910 14´8 #9/10
For those of you that like a longer rod for the added control of the line on the water, for the possibility of making a longer cast and for the extra advantage if you are wading deep. Destined to be a favorite with spey-bros’ all over Europe. 3-piece.
DHS-F-14810/11 14´8 #10/11
The first choice for larger rivers, larger flies and larger fish. Will give you all the distance you need, almost. Definitely a great mix between power and sensitivity. The balance and weight distribution in this rod makes it feel more like a 14 footer in the hand, but it casts like a true 15 footer, period. 3-piece.
DHS-MF-14810/11 14´8 #10/11
This rod flexes a little more and a little deeper than the one above. This enables it to work with a longer line and it makes the rod a little more forgiving if your stroke isn’t really perfectly timed. Awesome power and a great balance in the blank will make this rod one of the hottest newcomers in 2005. 3-piece.
DHS-MF-1591011 15´9 #10/11
The ultimate, long spey rod for large rivers and big fish. Designed to work perfect with our new “Long Distance” Shooting Heads. The medium/fast action makes this rod perform with heads in the 13-16 meter length. This will be a great choice, whether you have plans to fish the Gaula, Yokanga or the Skeena. 3-pieces, brings the ultimate performance out of the blank.
European Two Handed Rod Designations are based on AFTMA standards and are consistent from manufacturer to manufacturer. Rods from the US do not use AFTMA standards and are typically one AFTMA rating heavier than they are rated on the rod. That is to say a Sage 8/9 Spey would cast the same line as a Guidelines 9/10 - jc
