To use the calculator, enter a "Desired Weight" in grams or grains or “Desired Length” in feet or meters and it will calculate the corresponding weight or length values respectively.
If you measure your shooting head from the rear, fat end, and cut it to the length you see here you will end up with the weight you are looking for
Remember, this is only a guide. There is no substitution for tuning the shooting head under actual fishing conditions. DDC Connect shooting heads will vary slightly from these values. Fly Lines can vary from their nominal, published weights anywhere up to + or - 5%. That is why it is important that we rely on this calculator only for an approximation of the length and weights of the heads.
