The I2 Skater series come about for a couple of reasons.  First I am rarely using an 8 weight rod these days and a size 3 Pinky which is a great searching fly requires that.  I needed a fly that weighs a lot less but put up the same big commotion.  This fly is all synthetic and as such does not gain any water weight.  Second I wanted a searching pattern with an even bigger profile than the Pinky.  This fly is all of 3.5" and stirs up the pool as I require.

The I2 Skater - Eating is the follow up fly for the Searcher.  If the fish boiled and on the next cast, after a 2 minute reat, the fish does not come back then switch to a smaller buggier eating fly.  These have the same attributes of the Searcher, they wake like crazy and are unsinkable

A super eating fly and great searching fly on smaller water.  This one is has a great looking Caddis underwing.  Try and keep them away from it

The ultimate searching fly.  Based on years of swinging dries on the Skeena and Babine this fly is everything the Waller Waker could have been.  Black is by far the best color and evokes the most agressive response from the fish.  In addition it is easy to see so you can fish it carefully and on target.

Several 30# fish have fallen to this one and literally thousands of others

Based on the original Doc Spratley this one sports a pheasant tail body with copper tag and rib.  It is simply impossible for Steelies to lay off this one.  Originally developed as the final eating fly for a boiled up dry fly fish it has proven itself on the Thompson, Babine, Bulkley, Grande Ronde and Clearwater as a method fly in it's own right.  If the fish wont eat the Pinky or Magic then swing this one to him.
